Kelly and Shannon

Kelly (left) and Shannon are identical twins, if that wasn't apparent to you from the photo. They sure are great girls, and it's not often that you're friends with two girls that look exactly alike.

I will try to talk about these girls differently and not as if they are one person. I'm sure being twins, that happens a lot, but we'll see how I do. Kelly and Shannon are from Southlake. That's on the other side of Grapevine Lake from Flower Mound, so we're kind of close by. They're sophomores at TCU, and also like me, they weren't born in Texas...they're native Californians. When they lived there, they lived in Huntington Beach, which is a short drive from Long Beach, where I come from.

Shannon is in HIS, and she hangs out with Meredith, Erin, Jane et al. Her roommate is Becky, and has been since day one at TCU. It was interesting that she didn't room with Kelly, but their explanation made sense to me.

I have to admit it took me awhile to tell the difference between Shannon and Kelly. Sometimes I could depending on who they were with. Shannon was never holding hands with Mason, for example. But I decided I needed some concrete evidence, something I could use every time to tell them apart. I forget where I figured this out...it was sometime late last year or early this school year. Kelly and Shannon were sitting next to one another, and I realized they pluck their eyebrows differently. Subtle yes, but now I know in case I need a point of reference.

These last two photos were taken at the last BYX party, Saturday Night Live theme. Shannon came in the horn-rimmed glasses as Tina Fey. I forgot to ask what Kelly came as...and it's less obvious. Or I can't figure it out at least.

This is so awesome...identical twins for Girls of the Week! This should happen every week. Finally, here's Shannon and I at the Christmas Tree Lighting in December.
