E-Business Party
DATE: May 4
Zach and Perry had a great idea that after our final presentations were done with, we should throw a big party. And throw we did, on a Tuesday night during finals week. It didn't matter though, we were finished with everything. And I think Mackay gave everyone A's too, which is greatness. There are 36 e-business seniors, and a good number were there, including some I didn't expect, such as Billy.

The party must have gotten off to a slow start, since Nathan, Mitch, and Jonathan are sitting around the kitchen table with no drinks. I think this was before I got there.

There were some random girls I didn't know that showed up. I assume Zach knew them, it was his house. But in this picture, it looks like Nathan is getting some numbers. What a guy. Oh, by the way, I didn't take any of these photos. They are being used with permission of the photographer and party host, Zach Allie.

Games were played, drinks were drunk, nothing was broken, and pizza was provided. When Zach said there would be pizza, I assumed he meant Papa John's or something. Nope. He meant the 5 for 5 dollar frozen pizzas from Albertson's. I passed.

Wesley is the girl in the pink shirt. Zach's humorous caption for this photo as Wesley doing well sitting amongst a group of boys...or something like that.

It sure was a great party, and I will miss these guys. That's me in the back of course, surrounded by Wesley and George, with Craig sleeping in Wesley's lap and Jonathan in the foreground. Too bad Mackay didn't show up

Scott's Birthday
DATE: May 4
Scott's actual birthday is May 3, but we celebrated on Tuesday. Nathan and I went to his party at Ocean Rock directly following our presentations. I gave Scott his birthday/graduation gift, which was a bottle of Hpnotiq. As of Saturday night, it was about 3/4 gone.

Frats at Bat
DATE: April 29
Due to the rain the previous weekend, Frats at Bat was rained out. Luckily, we got to play the following Thursday. You might be thinking, "don't you have class?", but no, it was the first dead day. Some rules had to be changed - single elimination for one - but all the good teams still showed up. We beat Sig Ep, Delt, Pi Kap, the golf team, and Lambda Chi (in that order) to win the tournament. What a great capstone to a college softball career. The final game was never close either - Dietz pitched a gem and we beat LXA 7-1. A great day indeed, with Monty and Clint both hitting 6 home runs. Our Chi Omega coaches were great too, staying supportive through the whole tournament. Unfortunately, the BYX team is sort of like the 1997 Florida Marlins, as we get dismantled after the season. Every player but one is graduating, and that one player - Matt Loo (Jeff Conine) - gets to begin the rebuilding process.

Sarah and Liz were our Chi O coaches

BYX Formal
DATE: April 28
My final BYX formal was Wednesday night. In honor of Nathan Winston, I took a freshman. Good times had by all for sure. Scott didn't feel like eating with the common folk at Pappadeaux, so we ate in the "wine room." Very private.

HIS Formal
DATE: May 1
Becky asked me to be her HIS formal date. I certainly had to live up to her boyfriend's standard. Caleb couldn't make it to Fort Worth for the event, so I was the fill in. It was a great time, and I have to give Becky props for being the first girl to ask me to a sorority formal in person. I've been asked on the phone, in a letter, on instant messenger, but in person was a first, so good for her. Kyle Turner was there too, which made it even more fun.

Afterward, I was gentleman enough to pump gas for Becky too:

End of College
DATE: May 4
College is over as I know it, so what better way to go out than a party. My last college class was e-business consultancy, where I gave my final presentation. In celebration, Zach threw an amazing party at his house. A great majority of the 36 e-bus majors showed up. It was a great time, but I didn't bring my camera, so nothing was recorded (by me) unfortunately.

Senior Toast
DATE: May 5
The senior reception and champagne toast was this Wednesday night. Catered by Pappasito's (quality) and a toast by Chancellor Boschini (also quality). Dietz won horned frog earrings in the raffle. He gave them to Nathan, who promised he'd wear one in his ear during graduation.

Apology to Odessa Men
DATE: May 5
Apparently my aside from last month's issue was a bit harsh. I only meant that the Odessa House Five, who lived there when I entered TCU (Cody Dick, Scott Munson, Chris James, Travis Stuntz, Andrew Ripley) were guys I really looked up to. They were stand-up guys. You men who live there now are equally manly, I just consider you more as equals since we're the same age. You've done a fine job living up to the Odessa legacy, and I think Scott was truly proud last weekend. No hard feelings, men.

Life & Times of Ian

Life Status
DATE: May 5
As of Saturday, I will have graduated with a college degree. No, I don't have a job yet, unless you count aquatics director at Worth Ranch. My health care and flight benefits run out Saturday, ending this privileged existence I live.

GPA
DATE: May 5
All my grades had to be in by Wednesday, and I made a 3.6 GPA for the semester. I was so close to making a 4.0, or so I thought, which I never did in a single semester. And get this: my final grade for strategic management was 89.53, which according to Dr. Mueller, merits a B. What crap.

Graduation Status of Other 2000 Marcus Grads
DATE: May 5
Let's see...Rob graduates this month, Andrew graduated in December, Bill graduates from West Point and goes on active duty, and Norton I assume is graduating. I'm really not sure.
And who could forget Lisa Greene, who took off for University of Florida after graduation...she officially graduated last weekend, so she's one up on the rest of us.
UPDATED! Rob saw Brooks and Tony last week for the first time in months. I am to report that both Brooks and Tony are indeed graduating from UT this May.

Mother's Day
DATE: May 9

I went home for Mother's Day. It was the least I could do for my wonderful mother. She sure is a great mom, for reasons that may have alluded me growing up, but now they are crystal clear. Isn't that always the case with being a kid though?
