of the Week for October 14 is...
Laura
undisclosed person and Laura (on right). As she said to me, "I'm the hot one." In eighth grade, Laura and I had every class together. This especially helped her out when she hurt her knee (while teaching kung fu, no less) and I was called in from the bullpen to get her homework from every class. Through the years since, I've been there to help whenever possible. Something like that. The following are some photos of Laura amidst other female friends, I guess at Austin College:
There aren't too many people that I've stayed in touch with since seventh and eighth grade, but I don't thing any of them have changed physical appearances as often as Laura. Not that she's unattractive or impatient by any means, but I've seen her with short brown hair, long red hair, and now long burgundy(?) hair. She also had upwards of 10 ear piercings when she was a freshman in high school. Others came later...nose, most recently. According to Andrew, Laura has poor taste in choosing men. Laura says "Andrew has never liked any of my boyfriends." What is so abhorrent about these men? Well, she dated several football players at Austin College because they were low-maintenance. She dated a nice boy in high school who was recently facing statutory rape charges. And I think she dated a successful businessman who now runs his own self-themed website. I guess that guy wasn't all that bad, right Andrew? What's Laura doing now? Well, she just moved into an apartment in Las Colinas. She works for a company where she gets to utilize her broad Spanish skills. Hooray for Laura as Girl of the Week.

Laura
and I started off taking high school level Spanish I at ye olde Lamar
Middle School. Our freshman year, we both took Spanish 2 and 3 back to
back semesters. I decided to stick around for a fourth semester in my
sophomore year (NOTE: this was a wise decision. I AP-tested out of my
entire college language credit when I was only 15). However, Laura just
couldn't get enough, so she enrolled in Spanish 5 and 6 as well. She took
French at Marcus High School too. Languages were her major, and passion,
I assume. I've always enjoyed sharing travel stories with her, because
she's been to Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Mexico, etc etc.
All over the place.
