The Voorn Project's Celebration of Beautiful Girls in Ian's Life and Thanks for Participating in GIRL OF THE WEEK Over the Years
part one

Ah, GIRL OF THE WEEK.
It began for several reasons: showcase all the visitors I got at my new house, and by "visitors", I meant "girls only and no dudes." Also, it was a way for these girls to become famous, if only for a week. I accomplished a lot...celebrities were made, friends were reunited. A couple times, girls got mad at me for featuring certain other girls, possibly those more attractive than those complaining. Hey, I can only do so much.

THE WEBCAM (THE EARLY YEARS)

I used the webcam on my site from fall 2000 until fall 2002. Once I wasn't living in a dorm room, the activity on the camera got really boring. It was tough to feature some girls, because it was a little creepy, "Hey, come over to my room and I'll take your picture so you can be on my website." Creepy. So I tried to coincide visits with pictures, as I did with the very first Girls of the Week, Jen and Camille (on right). These have evidence of a very early Cockrell - my mattress hadn't even arrived yet and just my bed frame is seen in the background.

Other girls came to visit, normally at the same time as Cockrell get-togethers, girls like Kalli, Amber, Heather, Meredith, and Jane.

Where Are They Now?

KALLI
Kalli is now a junior at TCU. She lives near mmmm Perrotti's Pizza with equally cool cat Carolyn. They also have a cat too, and she's pretty cool. Kalli is engaged to "Happy" Matt Turner, one of my new members. She still loves baseball.

Kalli - from December 1, 2002

AMBER
Amber graduated from TCU in December. She lives on Wabash, and still works at the hospital doing...well I'm not too sure, but I bet it's helping her with her goal of becoming an M.D. She still loves to dance, she still loves Texas. She became a regular star on The Voorn Project. See her in Miami Spring Break '03 and the Pat Green concert from '04.

Amber - from October 27, 2002

HEATHER
Heather is now a senior at TCU, and also Amber's roommate. She has many endearing qualities, my favorite of which is probably her willingness to take me to the airport, which she did many times. To my credit, I repaid the favor a few times. I have to say, Heather's a bit harder to track down. I think the last few places I saw her were The Pub and The Gap. She was also a star in Miami Spring Break '03.

Heather - from September 30, 2002

MEREDITH
Meredith probably gets the award for the sweetest of the Girls of the Week. I'm serious, she's like Ali Owens sweet. Anywho, Meredith is a junior now and a deaf education major. We've had some good times, like the road trip to the A&M Island Party and the Liberty Bowl 2002.

Meredith - from November 24, 2002

MEGAN
Megan visited Cockrell at just the right time. She attended TCU for two years, then studied abroad in Australia. She also had an internship in Los Angeles, and I think she lives in Hawaii now. Unfortunately, I don't think I've seen her since the night she visited, which was her goodbye visit before she left for Australia.

Megan - from September 1, 2002

JANE
Hmm...Jane who? Okay, that's a joke. Jane and I have definitely become better friends since she was crudely photographed with my crappy webcam. We share a lot in common: The O.C., Monte Montgomery, Austin, Cockrell, etc. She's probably all over my website, but check out New Years in Austin. It's the best, and so is Jane's nickname, which I have to claim credit for.

Janeface - from January 19, 2003

JEN AND CAMILLE
The original Girls of the Week, roommates then and roommates now. They've always been a little off the wall, especially when they're together. They enjoy doing things like seeing Yo Yo Ma at Bass Hall. And who wouldn't? Jen graduated in December and Camille will graduate in May. They are the originals, and maybe still the best.

Jen and Camille - August 25, 2002

Stay tuned for more...
