"I
Love This Bar" I have waited too long to feature the apartment of Mike Dietz and Scott Hatter on TCU Cribs. But it was well worth the wait, because in that time, a bar was constructed at the apartment. So what I'd like to do now is take a trip back... In the spring
of 2002, a lot of us were still living in Clark Hall. Scott and Mike got
an apartment soon after finals week in the lovely complex known as Westcliff
Man Anyway, as the months and semesters passed, more and more "diversions" became a part of the apartment. It is noted for having the following game systems:
As you can see, there is plenty to do when you don't want to study around this place. To add to the diversions, Scott brought his pinball machine to Fort Worth. Plus there's a poker table too. And to top it all off, a bar was constructed. The nickname for the apartment was "The Deathtrap" because once you entered...you never left. To begin the tour, we'll start with the bedrooms. Dietz's bedroom has a lot of movie posters on the walls. He works in a movie theater in his hometown of Eagle River, Wisconsin, so I guess that's where they came from. The second Xbox console resides in his room. And he has his letter jacket hanging on the wall...how cute.
Scott's room is overwhelmed by the cross mural he painted this summer. On his bed is Amber. His room could use some serious cleaning.
But onto more important things, the bar. Here it is:
Later on in the night, they got a lot of bar reference from Webtender.com. One of the more sickening drinks they got from the site was called "The Lunch Box" also known as the Wisconsin Lunchbucket. The ingredients are simple: 3/4 of a beer and orange juice mixed together. Drop a shot of amaretto into the concoction and chug it like a boilermaker. Mike said it was gross. Scott couldn't taste it that well apparently. But for the TCU Cribs update, they agreed to do another Lunch Box. Step by step:
There's a lot of promise for future parties at The Deathtrap, Ghetto-Cliff, or whatever you want to call it. I just like to say, "I love this bar." You can see from the photos above that Dietz did quite a good job on the carpentry. The bar is varnished and sanded to perfection, and it was made without a level too. Behind the bar is a blender, a mini-fridge, and purple lighting. There will be a neon sign, but it's coming in the mail from Wisconsin. And what's that on the bottom shelf?? Ye Olde Keg?? That will have to be incorporated into a party. Of course this time, it won't be pink lemonade.
