Girl of the Week is...

Beth

She was just so flustered about getting her picture taken.

Redheads...they're an odd bunch. My first girlfriend was a redhead, my sister's a redhead, and Beth's a redhead. I'm not sure how she fits in with the other two, but let's go with it. Beth is a sophomore at this wonderful school we call TCU, and she's a quirky, peppy girl. I first met her at a Crusade function my sophomore year, her freshman year. I remember introducing myself, and bringing up the fact Geoff was my roommate. They knew Geoff, and called him "G-off".

So anyway, Beth's a regular around Cockrell, she's been caught papering it, left gifts on the porch, and other stuff. In retaliation, I've been known to take the windows off her Jeep. Let's move on...Beth works at a summer camp in Texas called "Laity Lodge Youth Camp" (note the blue t-shirt she's wearing). Other staff alumni of this camp include Leanna and Sarah, by the way.

Beth has a very cool job interning with a public relations firm. I'm guessing Miramax is a client of this PR firm because she brings back cool movie-related stuff. And she's always willing to share some with me. She gave me two sweet posters (Chicago and Gangs of New York), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (the book), and the jewel in the crown: West Side Story collector's edition DVD, before it was even sold to the public. She only got three copies, and she felt I was worthy of one because of my love for musicals. Thanks Beth!

Beth grew up in Austin, Texas, a city that I frequent often. She really knows Austin, not like Sheena knows Austin, and Beth also went to school with Django Walker, son of Jerry Jeff Walker. He also wrote "Texas on my Mind". I've been thinking about naming my son Django.

Beth is a big fan of music, another reason why we click well. Her favorite song is "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" performed by Aerosmith. This is the ballad from Armageddon. She's an Aerosmith fan in general, and has even went backstage for a concert last fall. My question is, if you love Stephen Tyler and Aerosmith so much, why is her favorite song one that was written by Diane Warren? What about "Dream On"? "Falling in Love is Hard on the Knees"? "Sweet Emotion"?? Come on.

Beth likes her roast beef

Beth's also really into baking. I'm not, but it's usually a good situation when one friend likes to bake, because everyone else can just sample cooking. Remember Ian's cookbook - sandwiches, ramen. Her all-time favorite movie is Wayne's World, and can quote it like no one else. "I don't even own A gun, let alone many guns to necessitate an entire rack."

Word on the street is that Beth is not the best at navigating. She was coming back to Fort Worth from Amarillo and ended up in Oklahoma, a decidedly unnecessary diversion. No worries though, it was still a good trip regardless. Apparently Beth claims she can interpret dreams. Some people are buying into this claim, but I'm still skeptical. I foresee a future Voorn Project exclusive where Beth can try and interpret Rob's crazy dreams. Now that's good entertainment.

She also likes hanging out at Krispy Kreme
