Adrienne and Melissa are both seniors in high school. They attend Flower Mound High School (est. 2000). I've known Melissa since August, when Adrienne introduced us. I've known Adrienne since...well, she's my sister. She turns 18 next month, so a long time. At FMHS, she's on the drill team, called the Rosettes. She "gets" to attend (and perform) at all the football games, do a spring dance show, and go to a banquet at the end of the year. I was privileged enough to attend this past May, and wow, I don't think I've ever seen so many inside jokes in one room before.

A lot of Adrienne's history is similar to mine: born in California, moved to North Carolina, then to Texas. We haven't attended the same school since I was in 5th grade and she was in 2nd. I got to attend the better school in town, Marcus High, because hers was only freshman/sophomore its first year. Adrienne is now applying to college, looking at several schools that aren't TCU, and thinking about biology or nursing as a major. She's involved with the Vista Ridge Methodist youth group. This long picture on the right is her at a mission trip, I think. She's gone to San Marcos, Mexico, and Denver on trips.

Back in August, Adrienne and Melissa came to Fort Worth for a visit. They stayed overnight at the Cockrell House, and got to meet exciting people like Geoff, Dustin, Camille, Allisa, and Eric. Since this was their first REAL visit to TCU, there were some things that had to be done, such as Chipotle and visiting the Odessa House.

Since Adrienne has a bit of an edge being a Voorn, I know less about Melissa. I do know that even though she lives in Texas, she yearns to be back in Iowa. Why, you ask? Well, she has family there. You're still perplexed?? Well, so am I. She's applying to the University of Iowa and Iowa State, and apparently never wants to look back at Texas. Wow, it's not that bad. Something that is notable about Melissa, she lives very close to 2021 Concord Drive...and we all know what went on there...(if you don't, reread the Calculus Club article).

Even though Melissa wants to shed her Texas ties, the more Adrienne stays here, the more Texas becomes ingrained in her head. I catch her saying "y'all" and listening to "The Wolf". Odd Texas behavior, yes. That's all for now. Maybe I can weasel some more info out of Melissa in the next few days.
