Welcome to The Voorn Project.
New motto: "More like 2002, less like 2005"

Here is a brief history of the Voorn Project.

As an amateur web designer, I concocted a site where I could display a 24/7 webcam into my dorm room. This grew into a portal for TCU news & rumors, and a place where people came to get their campus info, see themselves be made famous on the internet, and laugh a little at my overt cynicism and highbrow humor.

The site was popular. I averaged 1,000 hits a day at the peak of popularity. Then I graduated, and suddenly it was awkward to report on college happenings while out of college. So the site began a slow death.

The final nail in the coffin was the expanding presence of Facebook and Myspace. Suddenly, any average joe could make their own web presence with very little skill. My niche market was shrinking. When once upon a time the only way you could get popular on the web was being Girl of the Week, that was no longer the case.

So now, here is my attempt to see if I still have the motivation to keep a website updated on a regular basis. We shall see...

What I'd like to do now is take a trip back...
